The Spaces

The Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro was established in 1995 on the initiative of the artist, who set out to create a centre of documentation and study, not only of his own works, but also of contemporary sculpture in general. From 1999 to 2004 the Foundation was based in Rozzano, just outside Milan, in an industrial archaeology site that was renovated to a design by Pierluigi Cerri. Besides housing the works of the Foundation collection, this structure also initiated its first programme of exhibitions.
In 2004 the Foundation occupied the new building as its definitive seat, which was inaugurated in September 2005.
